VEHICLE & OWNERSHIP GUIDES

Light electric mobility

Start with the journey and the appropriate vehicle size.

Small vehicles serve distinct needs.

Electric two- and three-wheelers and other smaller mobility categories have their own route, loading and operating requirements. Trip length, secure storage, weather, accessibility and how the journey connects with other transport can matter as much as propulsion.

Do not carry over passenger-car assumptions.

Battery capacity, consumption, charging arrangements and service requirements need evidence for the specific vehicle. Rules on registration, licensing, permitted roads and charging vary by jurisdiction; check current official local guidance. This website does not determine legal eligibility.

Keep market scope explicit.

The IEA reports light mobility separately from cars and heavier road transport. That distinction matters when reading a headline EV total and when building an appropriate comparison.
