DECISION LAB

Ownership Cost

Compare supplied battery-EV and combustion-vehicle ownership scenarios.

WORKING TOOL

Your assumptions

Illustrative defaults. Replace them with appropriate evidence. Use one consistent boundary.

Comparison boundary

Purchase and residual values

Energy assumptions

Do not use a figure that already includes charging losses.
Metered-energy-equivalent price; check the billing boundary.

Annual costs for each vehicle

YOUR SCENARIO

Calculated locally. No information was sent.

METHOD & LIMITS

Show the method. Keep the boundary.

How this works

Metered energy = annual distance × battery-side consumption / 100 / charging efficiency. The tariff is weighted by the home/depot share. Each total is purchase price minus supplied residual plus recurring annual costs over the ownership period; the EV also includes setup. Cost per kilometre uses the same total distance.

How to read the result

Cash purchase only. No finance, tax, incentives, discounting, inflation, emissions or future market forecasts. Use consistent currency without conversion, comparable vehicles, documented residuals and no double counting of energy losses. The uniform efficiency assumption is simplified; charging billing boundaries vary.
